Words of Pope Pius XII concerning the miraculous La Dolorosa of Quito:

On the subject of Fr. Emilio Moscoso:

“That night, just before his death, one of his fellow priests and good friends noticed that he was very joyful because he knew that he was going to die.  One of his Jesuits friends testified that at that moment when they were imprisoned, he was given the grace of martyrdom. 

 Fr. Moscoso was a follower of the Lily of Quito’s spirituality which aided him in his Ignatian spiritual discernment.

"...Though the Vatican had made the announcement of its decision of Fr. Emilio Moscoso’s martyrdom and having died due to “Hatred for the Faith,” we were driven to dig deeper into this story so as to verify the truths of his martyrdom and also bear testimony to a sanctified soul through research."

"My Child, all of this I have suffered for thy love" “What dost thou do for Me?” “What more could I do for Thee?”

Ave regina caelorum, ave domina angelorum: salve radix, salve porta, ex qua mundo lux est orta: Gaude Virgo, gloriosa, super omnes speciosa, vale o valde decora, et pro nobis Christum exora.

Translation :

Hail, Queen of Heaven, Hail Lady of the Angels. Hail, Root, Hail the Door through which the Light of the world is risen. Rejoice, Glorious Virgin, beautiful above all. Hail, O very fair one, and plead for us to Christ.

Have recourse to her in all your spiritual and temporal needs. When your souls suffer temptations, and are immersed in grief, and if the star of your vocation is hidden by Divine permission from the sight of your soul, turn to her with confidence and say:

‘Star of the stormy sea of my mortal life, may your light shine upon me so that I do not stray from the path that leads me to heaven.’

Our Lady of Good Success aka Our Lady of Buen Suceso aka Mary of Buen Suceso aka Holy Mary of Good Success aka ... and on and on...

 Our Lady of Good Success aka Our Lady of Buen Suceso aka Mary of Buen Suceso aka Holy Mary of Good Success aka ... However the official title that Our Lady asked for in Quito was:

"Maria Santissima del Buen Suceso de la Purificacion" which was also extended via the "godmother" or "madrina" of the statue, the "Marquesa de Solanda" to: "Maria Santissima del Buen Suceso de la Purificacion y Candelaria" which in English translates to: Most Holy Mary of Good Success of the Purification (and Candelmas)!

...Wow either one of those Spanish titles are a real mouthful, aren't they?!? Those titles are extremely difficult for me - "a gringa" to read, much less pronounce it!  But there they are!!!
