The Conceptionist Monastery of Quito, Ecuador is one of the oldest convents in South America and the oldest Monastery for nuns in Quito. It was founded on January 13, 1577 by a group of Spanish sisters from Spain headed by the Mother Abbess Maria Taboada and a small group of founding sisters. One of the future Mother Abbesses of the Convent traveled along with them. She was the niece of Mother Maria and would someday become an abbess herself. Additionally she was the future mystic and visionary who would see the Most Holy Virgin of Good Success.  Her name is Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres. It is because of her visions and Our Lady of Good Success’ message to her that we have founded this Apostolate.

Due to the fact that we ardently trust in the great good that is wrought by the expiatory mission of these good cloistered sisters for the Church and the world and believe in the veracity of the prophetic messages of Our Lady, we promised Our Lady and the Mother Abbess that we would do all we could to help sustain this convent, as well as, spread this devotion. And so we began to send down donations to this beautiful monastery in the heart of the historical center of Quito, Ecuador. We have been doing so for over 10 years now and God-willing, we will continue as long as we are able.

Through the generosity of the devotees of Our Lady of Good Success, we have been able to collect and send down over $100,000 worth of donations and sacramentals such as medals and holy cards and novena booklets in Spanish to this Monastery.

The monastery and the church, itself, are well over 400 yrs old. There has been a continuous need of renovations in the past several years because much of the remaining buildings are in serious disrepair. Most of our donations have been for the upkeep of the monastery and then, for the sustenance of the sisters. Additionally, we try to do our part to spread the devotion to Our Lady of Good Success to the Ecuadoreans by having holy cards and other sacramentals available for the sisters to distribute.

In the last apparition to Mother Mariana, the 3 Archangels, St. Michael, Gabriel and Raphael appeared carrying beautiful gifts representing heavenly rewards for those who work for the Church and Our Lady of Good Success. She remarked that those who assisted this Monastery would be especially celebrated for their virtue of charity and loyalty, as she said:

“Do you see what the three Archangels St. Michael, St Gabriel and St. Raphael carry with joy? ….[these] are for secular and regular priests and laity of both sexes, who, loving My Most Holy Son and myself with simple, upright hearts, also love this Convent for its predilection. Ignoring criticism and scorn, they strive for its conservation and dedicate themselves to propagating my devotion under the consoling invocation of Good Success, which will be the sustenance and safeguard of the Faith in the almost total corruption of the 20th century.”
