And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, by reason of the confusion of the roaring of the sea and of the waves… Amen, I say to you, this generation shall not pass away, till all things be fulfilled.  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. [Luke 21 25,32-33]

August 21, 2017 is a date which coincides with happenings at La Salette, Knock and Fatima.....

On August 21st, the United States of America experienced a total eclipse which traversed from one side of the United States to the other. Was this a true warning from God or just another every day natural occurrence? How could we take this to mean if, in fact, it was a warning from God.  Throughout the history of the Church, the sun has been used to represented the Son of God or His Church...

Is God showing that He and His Church will be truly in a complete eclipse...hiding Himself and His Church from the world at this time?

In 1846, in a vision Our Lady of LaSallette told the two children, Melanie and Maximin, in France that:

THE CHURCH WILL BE IN ECLIPSE. ROME WILL LOSE THE FAITH AND BECOME THE SEAT OF THE ANTICHRIST."

Some believe the Church has been eclipsed since Vatican II...but could it become even worse?  Is this what God is suggesting?  A complete eclipse in which only a shadow...only a glimmer - a faint glow in the darkness can be seen?

Let's focus on some interesting facts for a moment... On one website, it states that this eclipse traveled through SEVEN towns named Salem.

This is an interesting coincidence, but one can recall that Padre Pio always said that: "With God, there are no coincidences..."  So what could it mean? Biblically speaking,  the number SEVEN has alot of different meanings. The top meaning is that of perfection, but also it can represent:  sacrifice, purification, consecration, forgiveness, reward, and punishment.

And then there is the name Salem coupled with the No. 7 could it mean "The Perfect Jerusalem" or the "New Jerusalem"?  The New Jerusalem is only mentioned twice in the Bible and that is in the Apocalypse which reads:

"Behold, I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.  He that shall overcome, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; and he shall go out no more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches." [Apoc 3: 11-13]

and the New Jerusalem described like this:

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth was gone, and the sea is now no more.  And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." [Apoc 21: 1-3]

Many believe we are living through the Apocalypse now... Sr Lucia of Fatima and Fr. Luigi Villa both believed this and warned us about this fact.... If so, could this mean that the time for the beginning of the "New Jerusalem" is at hand? Yet, would this event be presaged by a series of chastisements and purifications?

And more specifically, is this eclipse a direct warning  from God to the USA that He is about to punish this country for Her Collective sins against Him?  A Christian wrote a worthwhile article on it at this website. Though he believes in the Rapture, he has a good idea of why and how God has given us a warning and that the time is at hand for a chastisement.  See: http://www.unsealed.org/2017/08/america-writing-is-on-wall.html

It is an interesting and even frightening thought to ponder...

And  then... is there a connection with Our Lady of Knock,

La Salette, and the Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

This date is also interesting in that it was also the 138th anniversary of Our Lady of Knock on August 21st, 1879. Previous to the apparition in 1879, Catholic Ireland had been suffering persecutions since the late 1500's.  For centuries, priests and the faithful alike were harassed and even tortured and killed  for practicing the Catholic Faith.

In the 1800's though, they suffered different types of oppressions by despotic landlordism.... Besides the centuries of spiritual persecutions, these were years of famines, plagues, sickness, and generalized extensive suffering of the Irish people over all the land. It was reported that during the years between 1845- 1849, 1,500,000 people died. This time period was titled: "Ireland's Holocaust." As well, it is said that three million lined up daily at the soup kitchens, 2 million emigrated, but thousands not surviving the crossing of the Atlantic, died in the "coffin ships"; another million emigrated before the end of the century. All totaled, Ireland lost 1/2 of her population.

The Irish Catholics  were truly at their wit's end as they feared more famines and more plagues like those of the previous years. The year 1879 saw a terrible harvest ... Then, suddenly, Our Lady appeared as if to console them with her Apparition in the midst of these torments.

The town of Knock at the time of the apparitions was a tiny poverty-stricken hamlet.  However, what this little village lacked in material goods, it made up for by way of spiritual virtues headed up by a priest named  Ven. Archdeacon Cavanagh. He was the Pastor of the Knock Shrine from 1867-1897.  This Pastor of Knock has been likened to the Cure of Ars.  He was a holy, humble man and a true Catholic Shepherd who loved God, Our Lady, and the Poor Souls.  Fr. Cavanaugh was gifted with the great virtue of charity which he exhibited his whole life. He was truly an exemplary "Alter Christus".  He willingly suffered along with his flock to help alleviate their personal trials and crosses.

Just before the apparition at Knock, the Archdeacon desired to say one hundred consecutive Masses for the holy souls in Purgatory . Because the people were so poor, there were no stipends paid to him to offer Masses . Thus, he was free to follow his  aspiration to offer the 100 consecutive Masses for the holy souls. IT WAS JUST AFTER THE LAST OF THESE 100 MASSES WAS OFFERED THAT THE APPARITION TOOK PLACE ON THE 21ST OF AUGUST 1879.

At the time of his pastor-ship, there were a number of secret societies whose front work was to work for the alleviation of suffering and injustice. These societies operated under the influences that had originated from the French Revolution and they used injustice to attract members. They looked to the majority of the people as if they were good men  - something like the Shriner's.  In  many of the historical books written on the subject, these groups were only called "secret societies." However, in one such book titled: Venerable Archdeacon Cavanagh," the courageous author was not afraid to give a history of Freemasonry in Ireland and believed these societies  to be of Masonic origin. These organizations stemmed from a larger organization named: "The Ribbon Society." Under the "Ribbonmen" other groups branched out titled: "Liberty Men"; "Religious Liberty"; "United Sons of Irish Freedom"; "Sons of the Shamrock".  They were horribly opposed to the Church. Archdeacon Cavanagh spoke out against these organizations and discouraged his parishioners from having anything to do with them. One of these societies decided it was time to punish the priest and make an example of him for all other such prominent leaders of society who chose to warn people against them.  It was decided that he should be subjected to a series of threats  and then, in time, if he persisted, his ears would be cut off as a warning to other interfering clergymen. This particular group had even chosen the man that would carry out such a terrible mission. Between the time this resolution was made and the time it was to be carried out, the Blessed Virgin appeared at Knock as if to prevent such an occurrence. The whole situation changed. Those few in the area who were members found renewed courage and denounced the society. Nothing happened and the spell of the society over the district was broken.

The Apparition

There were 15 witnesses to this apparition in which Our Lady appeared in white with St. Joseph bowing on her right and a figure of a man who some of the witnesses discerned to be St. John the Evangelist standing on Our Lady's left wearing a bishop's miter, holding a book and raising his hands as if to be preaching to them. To their left, was an altar with a lamb laying upon it and angels and saints surrounding this altar. Some of the witnesses surmised that St. John was reading from The Book of Revelation.

The book  "Knock Shrine in Picture and Story" by Liam Ua Cadain  written first in 1945 with an Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat in 1945 and 1957 is quoted below as it gives one the true meaning of this silent apparition:

"Let us examine the Knock apparition in the light of these principles. Firstly, one can say  that  it  contains  nothing that is extravagant or ridiculous. Secondly, an examination shows that the arrangement of the several elements is regular, reasonable and harmonious. For example, the figure of Our Lady is on a higher level than that of the other two. The altar, lamb and cross are in the center of the gable and on a higher level than the three figures..... They all recognized the central figure as that of Our  Lady,  yet it cannot  be said that the appearance of Our Lady was exactly like what the witnesses would have already seen in statues of Our Lady. The statues of Our Lady commonly seen in Irish Churches were the image of the Madonna and Divine Infant, the Lourdes statue and the statue of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. In the apparition, the crown on  Our  Lady's  head, the upturned eyes and the position of her hands were features  would have  been  unfamiliar.  It is said  that the  representation  of  Our  Lady  in  the  Knock apparition was very similar to a painting of her found in the Roman catacombs. It can hardly be said  that  such  a  painting would be known in Knock. The figure of St. Joseph was easily recognized too, but his special pose was something original. Only one witness expressed an opinion on the identity of the third figure, because of a statue she had seen in Lecanvey Church.  The statue in Lecanvey represented St. John the Evangelist as holding a book in his left hand and having his right hand raised.  There  was no mitre on the statue in Lecanvey.  There  was a  mitre on the figure in the apparition, "not a high mitre but a short set kind of one...."

The lamb was a  frequent  symbol  in  Christian  art.  In the Old Testament, the sacrifice of the Paschal Lamb prefigured the Sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross. When Our Lord was on earth St. John the Baptist pointed Him out to his disciples saying, "Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him who taketh  away the sins  of the  world."  In the Mass we pray saying, "Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world have mercy on us." St. John the Evangelist had a vision of heaven which  he describes in  the Apocalypse:

"And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne, a  book  written  within and without."

"And I saw: and beheld in  the midst  of the  throne  and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the ancients, a Lamb standing as it were slain, having seven horns and seven eyes: which are the  seven  spirits  of God,  sent forth into  all  the earth."

"And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne,  and  the  living  creatures,  and the ancients; and  the  number  of  them  was  thousands of thousands.

"Saying with a  loud  voice:  The lamb that  was slain is worthy to receive power, and divinity, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and benediction." (Apoc.  V, vv. 1, 6,  11, 12.)

In the Christian art which flourished in the early centuries after  the conversion  of  Constantine  the symbols of the cross and the lamb were used to denote the Holy Victim of Calvary. In a sixth century mosaic of the Vatican Basilica a lamb is represented as standing on a throne the foot of a cross studded with gems. From the side of the lamb blood flowed into a chalice from which it again flowed in five streams representing the five wounds Christ. There is preserved at Ghent a famous fifteenth century painting by the Van Eyck brothers representing the adoration of the Lamb as described in the Apocalypse. The lamb, throne and  cross differ in some aspects from the representation at Knock. In  the  apparition  the  lamb is not looking towards the people; he is facing towards the figures, while there is a wealth of other details surrounding the central theme  of the painting  which is entirely  absent  in the scene at Knock

The combination of lamb, throne and  cross  would have been familiar to students of Christian art. The witnesses Knock may, or may not, have seen reproductions  of one of the early masterpieces....

Does  the  apparition  express an  ideal?  No words spoken but an examination of the tableau would seem to reveal a definite symbolism. The figure of Our Lady was one which most attracted the witnesses. Her hands are in the position in which a  priest  holds  his  hands  when celebrating  Mass.  Her  eyes are  raised  to heaven.  She is therefore, in a position of prayer, intercession, mediation. Her crown symbolizes her Queenship,  and presupposes her Assumption into Heaven. St. Joseph was on Our Lady's right. In 1870  Pope  Pius  IX  had   declared   St. Joseph  Patron of the  Universal  Church.  In  the apparition he is in the attitude of one paying honor to Our  Lady,  but his joined hands also symbolize prayer and petition. In Heaven, his prayer is for the  Universal  Church.  On  Our  Lady's left is a figure said to be St  John.  He is  wearing  a  miter; he has a  book in his left hand;  his  right  hand  is raised;  he is in the attitude of one preaching. Miter, book and preaching symbolize the teaching of the Church. By his right hand this figure is drawing attention  to  Our  Lady, and by being partly faced the other way he is also drawing attention to the altar, lamb and cross. The lamb and  cross are a recognized symbol of the Victim of Sacrifice. The third figure, therefore, is drawing attention to the mediation of Christ. An inference seems possible and reasonable. Our Lady intercedes for the Universal Church. She  is Queen of Heaven and Mediatrix of all graces. Her mediation, however, is efficacious only through the merits of Christ's mediation on Calvary which is made present again  in  the Mass....

In regard to the timing of the apparition it may be relevant to mention that the year 1879 marked the Silver Jubilee of the Definition of the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception. August 21st  was  the eve  of the Octave of  the  Assumption,  and  on  the  very  day  of  the apparition, August 21, 1879. a statue of  Our  Lady  was  solemnly crowned by a Papal Legate at La Salette. If we take these circumstances into consideration, the apparition at Knock combines many of Our Lady's prerogatives, her.Immaculate Conception,   her   Assumption,    her   Queenship   and her Univeral Mediation."

[ NB Emphasis is mine but one can see here that even the author, Liam Ua Cadain, saw the correlation of dates and the "coincidences" so to speak]

Why did She appear?

One priest, Fr.  Francis Thornton, wrote:

"...the people of Knock recognized immediately and spontaneously that they had been recipients of a special  heavenly favor and they understood instinctively the symbolic meaning of the apparition.  They saw it as an assurance that, in spite of the poverty and famine in which they were living, their faith in the Mass and in the intercession of the Mother Of God would be rewarded."   (Our Lady of Knock in Ireland 1958 Impr. and NO 1957 pg 45)

In 1882, after paying a visit to Knock as a pilgrim and seeing the widespread suffering and depravity that the good Catholic Irish suffered,  Archbishop Lynch of Toronto wrote about why he believed Our Lady had appeared in Knock :

"it was a most merciful condescension on the part of Our Immaculate Mother to appear in the neighborhood of such a place, and to give the patience and courage of saints and martyrs to these poor people who had to bear a cross - one of the heaviest that could be imposed on a father, mother and children- to be driven from their homes by no fault of theirs, but because in the mysterious ways of Providence, three bad harvest had deprived them of the means of paying their rents. I have been told by their Parish Priest that these poor people left their homes as quietly as Saints, resigned to the will of God but praying to the Holy Mother for patience and another home"

(The Apparition at Knock by Rev. Michael Walsh  Imp 1959 pg 94)

One more detail that I felt needed to be highlighted  - that, back in 1879, would have been most likely taken for granted.  With the emphasis on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the 3 central figures being present - Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John, the saint images were in a physical position to give the visionaries the appearance of worshiping, thanking, petitioning and even making reparation as if they were ever present at the Mass with the Lamb was on the Altar.  However, the figure representing St. John was in the stance of reading and preaching from a book that suggests the Bible- perhaps the Book of the Apocalypse. The question came to my mind: Was this  act meant to suggest the the Mass of All Times, i.e. the Mass codified by Pope St. Pius V with the "Quo Primum"on July 14, 1570 as in the Latin Tridentine High Mass?  For the Tridentine Mass always concludes with  "Last Gospel" which is thePrologue of St. John's Gospel (John 1:1–14).  Was Heaven sending a message to us for our times on Its Divine Commands?  ( aka What is bound on earth is bound in Heaven?

And so it was that after that apparition because of their faith, pilgrims flocked to the little town of Knock and with them was brought to them not only hope and consolation, but as a result of the miracles that began to occur, an alleviation of such dire poverty and prosperity began to flourish from the tourism this created. Perhaps in this fact too, we have a message....hold fast to the Unchanging Truth, hold fast to devotion to Our Lady, the Saints, but most importantly to the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - the one codified by Pope Pius V.... for as we have seen demonstrated, despite the fact the Irish were persecuted relentlessly for centuries, they persevered and their trials were alleviated by Heavenly visitation - the spell of Freemasonry was broken!

Additionally, and perhaps even more importantly, this total eclipse occurred on the eve of the traditionally held feast day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, August 22.

(N. B. In 1942, Pius XII established the Feast of the Immaculate Heart to fall on August 22 during the Octave of the Assumption. On May 4th, 1944 Pope Pius XII extended the celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to the universal Church. It was only after Vatican II that the feast was moved to the  the Saturday following the Feast of the Sacred Heart. For us following Tradition, this feast is kept on August 22. )

Has the Church and Her Faithful fulfilled the wishes of Christ on practicing the devotion to His Mother's Immaculate Heart  as requested at Fatima and beyond as given to Sr. Lucia?  Sadly, I personally think the greater majority of the Church and Her Faithful have failed and have not met these requests.... And so, was this sign in the Heavens on the eve of Her feast day, did she give a warning to Her Children that she could no longer hold back the arm of God most especially because  Pope Francis recently mocked Her by stating that Our Lady was not some silly Madonna that did this?  Is not Heaven crying for vengeance upon such statements of blasphemy and disrespect??? Read on and decide for yourself.

And  Now the Ties to Fatima and Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Let us begin with a quote from Jacinta of Fatima and gaze upon the faces that not only saw the Holy Mother of God but also the just punishments of HELL!

Their countenance after the vision of Hell

Sometime between between December 1919 and February 1920. Our Lady told Jacinta many things including:

"Our Lady can no longer hold back the arm of her beloved Son from the world. It is necessary to do penance. If people change their ways, Our Lord will still spare the world; but if they do not, the chastisement will come.

(Before we get into this devotion, it would be good to pause and offer an act of reparation for the sin of blasphemy that Pope Francis committed at Fatima in May, 2017 in honor of the 100th anniversary when he spoke to the pilgrims there this words: "What Mary? A teacher of the spiritual life or a 'plaster statue' from whom we beg favors at little cost? That neither does justice to God or the Virgin, nor does the image of Mary that stops the just arm of God ready to punish. Great injustice is done to God's grace whenever we say that sins are punished by His judgment, without first saying as the Gospel clearly does  that they are forgiven by His mercy!"  ---  I think Francis forgets that in order to be truly forgiven you first must be sorry and have true contrition for your sins!!! )

The following excerpts were taken from Fatima.org to stress the importance of devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary:

Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

On June 13, 1917, 100 years ago, Our Lady of Fatima told Sr. Lucia:

"Jesus wishes to make use of you to make Me known and loved. He wants to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart. To whoever embraces this devotion I promise salvation; these souls shall be dear to God, as flowers placed by Me to adorn His throne"

Lucy asked sadly: "Am I to stay here alone?"

Our Lady: "No, My daughter. Do you suffer a great deal? Don't lose heart. I will never forsake you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God."

And then again on July 13 She said:

"I want you to come here on the 13th of next month, to continue reciting the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, in order to obtain peace in the world and the end of the war, because only She can help you."

And after showing these small innocent children of vision of Hell, She added:

"You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart."

And then:

"If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the reign of Pius XI. When you see an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and the Holy Father.

"To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If My requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated."

Our Lady of Fatima gave the 3 children the  Third Part of the Secret on July 13, 1917. It began with:

"In Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved, etc."

And ended with:

"In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world."

Pontevedra - December 10, 1925
The Apparition of  the Child Jesus and Our Lady

On December 10, 1925, the Most Holy Virgin appeared to her, and by Her side, elevated on a luminous cloud, was the Child Jesus. The Most Holy Virgin rested Her hand on her shoulder, and as She did so, She showed her a Heart encircled by thorns, which She was holding in Her other hand. At the same time, the Child said:

"Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce It at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of Reparation to remove them."

Then the Most Holy Virgin said:

"Look My daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console Me and announce in My name that I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making Reparation to Me."

The Spirit of the Devotion of Reparation
The Revelation of May 29, 1930

Frère Michel continues:

Sister Lucy at the time was at Tuy. Her confessor, Father Gonçalves, had given her a series of questions in writing. Here, let us recall only the fourth one: "Why five Saturdays, (he asked) and not nine, or seven, in honor of the sorrows of Our Lady?" That same evening, the seer implored Our Lord to inspire her with an answer to these questions. A few days later, she passed the following to her confessor.

"When I was in the chapel with Our Lord part of the night of May 29-30, 1930 (we know that it was her habit to make a holy hour from eleven in the evening to midnight, especially on Thursday evenings, according to the requests of the Sacred Heart at Paray-le-Monial), and I spoke to Our Lord about questions four and five, I suddenly felt myself more intimately possessed by the Divine Presence and, if I am not mistaken, this is what was revealed to me:

"My daughter, the reason is simple. There are five types of offenses and blasphemies committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary:

    1. Blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception.
    2. Blasphemies against Her Perpetual Virginity.
    3. Blasphemies against Her Divine Maternity, in refusing at the same time to recognize Her as the Mother of men.
    4. The blasphemies of those who publicly seek to sow in the hearts of children indifference or scorn, or even hatred of this Immaculate Mother.
    5. The offenses of those who outrage Her directly in Her holy images. 'Here, My daughter, is the reason why the Immaculate Heart of Mary inspired Me to ask for this little act of Reparation ..."

It is also true that the gravest sins against the Most Holy Virgin are first of all sins against faith. This important lesson must be kept in mind.

The Devotion of Reparation: A Secret of Mercy for Sinners

    Frère Michel continues:

After enumerating the five blasphemies which gravely offend His Most Holy Mother, Our Lord gave Sister Lucy the decisive explanation which allows us to penetrate into the secret of Her Immaculate Heart, which overflows with mercy for all sinners, even those who scorn and outrage Her:

"See, My daughter, the motive for which the Immaculate Heart of Mary inspired Me to ask for this little Reparation, and in consideration of it, to move My mercy to pardon souls who have had the misfortune of offending Her. As for you, always seek by your prayers and sacrifices to move My mercy to pity for these poor souls."

The Sin Against the Holy Spirit:

Here we have one of the principal themes of the Message of Fatima: since God has decided to manifest more and more His great design of love, which is to grant all graces to men through the mediation of the Immaculate Virgin, it seems that their refusal to submit with docility to what God wills is the fault which most gravely wounds His Heart, and for which He no longer finds in Himself any inclination to pardon them. This sin seems unforgivable, because for Our Savior there is no crime more unpardonable than to despise His Most Holy Mother, and "to outrage Her Immaculate Heart, which is the Sanctuary of the Holy Spirit. This is committing the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will not be forgiven in this world or in the next'"”

In 1929, in the apparition of Tuy which is the final fulfillment of Fatima, Our Lady will conclude the extraordinary manifestation of the Holy Trinity with these striking words: "So many are the souls which the justice of God condemns for sins committed against Me that I come to ask for Reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray."

War and Peace Depend on Communions of Reparation

In fact, in addition to the conversion of sinners and our own eternal salvation, Our Lady has willed that the Communion of Reparation be linked to another magnificent promise: the gift of peace. On March 19, 1939, Sister Lucy wrote:

"Whether the world has war or peace depends on the practice of this devotion, along with the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is why I desire its propagation so ardently, especially because this is also the will of our dear Mother in Heaven."

And on June 20 of the same year, she wrote:

"Our Lady promised to put off the scourge of war, if this devotion was propagated and practiced. We see that She will obtain remission of this chastisement to the extent that efforts are made to propagate this devotion; but I fear that we can do more than we are doing and that God, being displeased, will pull back the arm of His mercy and let the world be ravaged by this chastisement which will be unlike any other in the past, horrible, horrible."

The Request for  the Consecration of Russia

On July 13, 1917 as we saw in the second part of the Secret, Our Lady told Lucy that later on She would come back to ask for the Consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. Our Lady did return for this request as promised.

On June 13, 1929, Sister Lucy was in her convent chapel in Tuy, Spain, a city on the border of Portugal. Sister Lucy herself left a description of the event, and so we quote her account at length, adding only a few subtitles.

    Sister Lucy wrote:

"At this time Our Lord informed me that the moment had come when He willed for me to make known to the Holy Church His desire for the Consecration of Russia and His promise to convert it ... The communication took place in this way:"

The Holy Hour of Adoration and Reparation:

6/13/29  "I had requested and obtained permission from my superiors and confessor to make the Holy Hour from 11:00 p.m. until midnight from Thursday to Friday."

"Being alone one night, I knelt down before the Communion rail in the middle of the chapel to say the prayers of the Angel, lying prostrate. Feeling tired, I got up and knelt, and continued to say them with my arms in the form of a cross. The only light came from the sanctuary lamp."

    A Spectacular Trinitarian Theophany:

"Suddenly a supernatural light illumined the whole chapel and on the altar appeared a Cross of light which reached to the ceiling.

    In a brighter part could be seen, on the upper part of the Cross, the face of a Man and His Body to the waist;

On His breast was an equally luminous dove,

And nailed to the Cross, the Body of another Man."

"A little below the waist, suspended in mid-air, was to be seen a Chalice and a large Host onto which fell some drops of Blood from the Face of the Crucified and from a wound in His breast. These drops ran down over the Host and fell into the Chalice."

"Under the right arm of the Cross was Our Lady with Her Immaculate Heart in Her hand" (It was Our Lady of Fatima with Her Immaculate Heart  in Her left hand without a sword or roses, but with a crown of thorns and flames ...)

"Under the left arm (of the Cross), some big letters, as it were of crystal clear water running down over the altar, formed these words: 'Grace and Mercy'."

"I understood that it was the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity that was shown to me, and I received lights about this mystery which I am not permitted to reveal."

The Request for the Consecration of Russia:

"Then Our Lady said to me: 'The moment has come when God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means.

"So numerous are the souls which the justice of God condemns for sins committed against Me, that I come to ask for Reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray.'"

"I gave an account of this to my confessor, who ordered me to write what Our Lord willed to be done."

The Terrible Revelation of Summer 1931 -
"They Did Not Want to Heed My Request"

Since the Pope and his advisors chose, for two years, to ignore the words of Our Lady of Fatima explicitly stating the Most Solemn Request of God to consecrate Russia, Jesus, Himself, spoke to Sister Lucy in Rianjo, Spain, in August 1931.

First of all let us quote from Sister Lucy's letter of August 29, 1931, where the seer passes on to her bishop this message, which is of highest importance in the economy of the Message of Fatima:

"My confessor orders me to inform Your Excellency of what took place a little while ago between the Good Lord and myself: as I was asking God for the conversion of Russia, Spain and Portugal, it seemed to me that His Divine Majesty said to me:

'You console Me a great deal by asking Me for the conversion of those poor nations. Ask it also of My Mother frequently, saying: Sweet Heart of Mary, be the salvation of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world. At other times say: By your pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, obtain for me the conversion of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the entire world.'"

    Then Jesus said:

"Make it known to My ministers, that given they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My request, that they will follow him into misfortune. It will never be too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary."

Later on, by means of an interior communication, Our Lord complainingly said to me:

"They did not want to heed My request. Like the King of France they will repent and do so, but it will be late. Russia will already have spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer!"

In closing, one question comes to mind, has God lost patience with us after 100 yrs and has the time come for us did end up like the King of France????  When will we listen to all of Our Lady's attempts to save us???

Let us find consolation in the "coincidences" of these dates and happenings and meditate on what Heaven intended.... and finally listen before its too late!!!!

    Part 2 is coming soon...
